| Marilyn was born on November 12, 1996 in
Snellville, GA after 26 weeks of gestation. She is now a very healthy 2 year old that is
aways smiling, and running around the house looking for new things to explore. The time
she spent in the NICU was quite difficult for our entire family, but those memories are
slowly fading, leaving behind more joyous memories from her stay. We thank God continually
for seeing her through that time, and are extremely thankful that she is the healthy
little girl she is today. Marilyn's
story is unique in the fact that she avoided many of the problems associated with
prematurity. This is something for which we are very thankful. Our hearts and prayers go
out for those that were less fortunate than her.
Marilyn's Diary is a day by day account of what was
happening in her life during her stay in the NICU, pictures from her stay, and pictures
after she came home. If you click on a small picture of Marilyn, another browser window
will open to display a larger version of that picture. You will also find linked words
that will take you to a glossary so you can learn more about that term as it pertains to
prematurity. By clicking on that same word in the glossary, you can go back to her diary
at the point where you left off. At the very bottom of Marilyn's Diary, you will find the
"Tale of the Tape" chart. This is
a little chart showing her measurements as she grew in the NICU. |
